I think every photographer aspires for a magazine front cover shot and I finally landed my first on The Outdoor Writer Photographer Guild’s 2021 summer journal.

I shot this image whilst climbing a multi-pitch trad route on the Stockhorn in the Valais Alps, Switzerland in August 2019.

There were a pair of German climbers just starting the pitch below me as my partner and I waited for our other team mate to finish his lead. With a good angle and useable light I grabbed the camera and waited for the first climber to create a suitable hero pose before blazing away.
